This post was originally just gonna be one tag – The Feelings Tag – but then I got nominated for Lighting Up That Writer’s Nook tag, so I decided to merge them into one post! A verrrrry bookish post.

#1 A Book That Made Me Cry All Day

Hmmm… Wow, first question and I really don’t know what the answer is… I don’t usually cry while I’m reading, but one book that did make me sad (and my eyes got kinda wet) was A Dog’s Journey. It’s super sad at parts and totally made me want to bawl my eyes out. Every time Bailey died it was so sad, and when he was in pain… Oh, I can’t even write it out without getting sad 😢😢

#2 A Book That Was Not That Great

I didn’t really like Stargirl, by Jerry Spinelli. Everything about it just felt… wrong. Star Girl was homeschooled, but the author just portrayed her as being kind of wild, and, I don’t know, free? But that’s not how a lot of homeschooled kids actually are, so I think that it gave the wrong message to people. Admitedly I did read this when I was nine, so I might give it another go sometime… (the reason I picked this book was because I couldn’t think of anything else!)

#3 A Book That Was Next To Perfection

Ooooh, how do I pick? There are so many books out there I love, it’s hard to choose just one. But I’m gonna go with The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall. I’m rereading the series right now, so it’s the first one I thought of. I love it because it’s about four sisters and the adventures they go on. Each book is full of humour and fun. They all make me laugh out loud.

#4 A Book That Touched My Heart Deep Within

Okay, I know that I may have mentioned my love for The War That Saved My Life before, but it is. just. such. a. good. book!!!! You can totally just be there with Ada the whole time, and plus all the challenges she has to go through… It’s just so hard for her, and you can understand that!

#5 A Book That Is Above All The Other Books Ever Written

Ahhhhh!!!! I thought that A Book Next To Perfection was hard! Okay, I’m gonna have to think about this one… a lot… Ummm, I guess I’ll say Harry Potter! *remembers it’s a series* Oh. Right. Well, whatever, I can’t think of another one. I guess the reason I say Harry Potter is because it’s such a good series (duh) and I really can’t think of anything that’s wrong with it, which makes it great! It has friendship, good VS evil, family, umm MAGIC! And lots of cool fantastical creatures. Plus JK Rowling did such a good job writing the books.

I like to make sure that my characters always value friendship (unless, perhaps, they are a villain). That’s probably the most important one, because I value it so much. I also tend to make my characters respectful of nature, because I love nature very much. I haven’t really written a lot of stories yet, so I can’t see a pattern in my characters’ personalities, but I like to make sure my characters have those two qualities.

I like to think of ideas while I’m trying to fall asleep (because my mind usually wanders and thinks of some pretty crazy stuff), so I usually keep a piece of paper and a pencil on my bedside table. Once I think of an idea for a story, I type it out on Google Docs and then spend a few days – or maybe one or two weeks – fleshing out the idea and writing out the book outline.

Okay, first one; NEVER GIVE UP. No matter how frusterating it may be at that time, remember that there are people out there who want to read your story, and that your story may become their new favourite book (I really need to follow my own advice…)! Number two, always write down something as soon as it comes to you, because sometimes ideas slip away, no matter how hard we try to grasp them.

I don’t like putting violence in my stories. Which is strange, because I like to write fantasy, and most authors make sure that there is violence in their books. But… I just don’t like imagining it, so I just never put it in. I also tend to not use, like, bad words in my stories. Even if they are just words like ‘stupid’ or ‘idiotic’. I guess it’s just because my parents always classified those as ‘bad words’ too.

Well, I like things such as baked things, soups, stews, chicken and dumplings (well that was random)… Basically something nice and warm that you imagine yourself eating on a cold snowy winter night. Whether that be lasagna or beef stew, or even a fresh batch of cookies, I will eat it.

Hmmm… Let’s see here… I would like a cozy nook, maybe in a little cottage in the woods, just outside of a small town (I wouldn’t want to be too lonely, you know), with a window seat and some fairy lights (yeah, I know, but I have always wanted fairy lights) and a nice window seat to sit in with lots of coushions. Yeah, that sounds good. And I’d be holding a cute little notebook – even though I rarely write my stories out on paper (bear with me, it’s to complete the look) – with a nice pen and sipping hot chocolate. There, done. Doesn’t that sound lovely?
