July Monthly Wrap-Up

Hi everyone! Welcome back to Blogging with Reese!

It’s now officially August (and it has been for the past 6 days), and so although this post is a bit late, I’m doing a July monthly wrap-up! Wow, it seems like the further we get into 2021 the faster it goes.

Now, as you know, I’ve been posting on Fridays, but I feel like that’s too restricting, because I’ve also been wanting to post on other days, so I have decided to just post whenever. You can expect a post once or twice a week from now on!

Anyways, on with the wrap-up!

Wow, looking back, I feel like it was forever ago that I read some of these books, not just 4 weeks.

As you can see, I have only one DNF (because I try to finish as many books as I can). It was just so cheesy and nothing happened, so I had to DNF it. On the other hand, I finally read Unlocked!!!! I’ve been waiting for months (spoiler-free review coming soon!)!

Believe it or not, July was actually a pretty productive month for writing for me. I wrote 5 blog posts (okay, not super productive…), but my friend and I started working on a script together (I’m not sure what for, just kind of for writing), and we’ve been having a lot of fun with that!

We’re also gonna write and preform a skit for our school talent show! Well, it’s like a talent show, but there aren’t specific winners.

I didn’t exactly do a whole whack of stretching and become super flexible, but I did stretch consistently, and that’s what matters. I’m hoping to stretch more in August as well.

(This category is for pretty much anything else I did in July)

I went on a 3-day trip to Kazbegi National Park, so that was a lot of fun! We went hiking to Gergeti Glacier, and kinda got rained out, but we still hiked a long ways. (Comment if you want a full post on this trip!)

I also have been volunteering at the dog shelter a lot, and taking tons of pictures of the pups for the dog shelter website, which I’m really enjoying! We’ve dressed some of the puppies up in little costumes and done puppy photoshoots! The dogs are so sweet, and each of them has their own personality.

Speaking of animals, some kittens have moved into my neighbourhood, so I’ve also been spending time feeding, taking care, and photographing them!

Also, I saw Hamilton, and I have discovered that I absolutely LOVE it. I listen to the songs all the time; on my way to babysitting, while I’m doing the dishes, or doing school projects (though not a lot of work actually gets done when I’m listening to music).

Overall, July was a pretty fun month for me!

How was your July? Have you seen Hamilton? Where’s your favourite spot to go on vacation? Dogs or cats? What’s the best book you read in July?

Hi! I'm Reese! I'm 13 years old and a TOTAL bookworm (like, huge). Some of my favourite series are Harry Potter, Keeper Of The Lost Cities, and a bazillion other ones (the list is too long to write down). When I'm not reading - which isn't very often - I'm either writing, practicing my photography, or attempting to learn gymnastics by myself. Oh yeah, and I got watercolour paints a while ago, so I'm also painting! I am Canadian, but my family and I travel all around the world! I've been to 13 different countries so far!

  1. A bookish girl you are! 😝 I read the book β€œWhere the Crawdads Sing”; awesome story! My July was spent in Alberta away from all the fires and smoke in British Columbia! I’m here until September. Glad you got away for a hike in the mountains! Great pics too!

  3. I was almost done reading, and I was like, nah, I don’t need to comment. Then I saw the word Hamilton. I actually have not seen it, but I have listened to it SO MANY TIMES. Absolutely LOVE IT. I love The Story of Tonight, and Dear Theodosia, and of COURSE Helpless and Satisfied, and GAH I love everything about it. So powerful, and new, and wonderful.
    Great post!✨
