EEEEEEEEEE I finally read Unlocked!!!!
*takes deep breaths*
Sorry, that was no way to start a post.
Welcome back to Blogging with Reese! Today I’m gonna be sharing my thoughts on book 8.5 in KotLC!
FINALLY!!!!
I’m kinda late, and I know that most Keeper fans have already read Unlocked, but I didn’t until a few weeks ago, so that’s why I’m writing this now.
For those of you who are still wondering what Unlocked is exactly, I’ll tell you, because I was confused before I read it.
Unlocked is book 8.5 in Shannon Messenger’s Keeper of the Lost Cities series. The first part of the book is kind of a series guide to all of the characters and the Lost Cities themselves.
The second part is a novella told in alternating chapters between Keefe and Sophie’s POVs. You have to read the novella before you read book 9, because the novella picks up right where Legacy left off. Book 9 will make no sense if you don’t read book 8.5.
Also, this review has no spoilers, for those of you who haven’t read it yet.
Now, let me just start talking about the book already, because I can’t wait!
Unlocked was and wasn’t what I was expecting.
I felt like all of the registry files were a bit boring at times, and I caught myself skimming a bit since I already knew most of the things that were mentioned. I liked how in Dex’s and Keefe’s files it said what they’d written, since they’d hacked in 😂
I did like the map and the life in the Lost Cities part, though. I thought that those were pretty cool. The Intelligent Species section was a tiny bit boring…
But oh my gosh, I loved Keefe’s memories! The pictures (and especially the memory from EXILE — Sokeefe alert!!!!) I also loved that we got to read from Keefe in 1st person POV! It was soooooo sweet, especially when he was talking about Sophie!
Moving on to the novella itself: Well, like any other KotLC book, it was awesome! And I’m super glad that Shannon Messenger decided to alternate the chapter POVs because it made it so much cooler! I’m not gonna say much else, because I don’t want to spoil anything, but Keefe’s new ability is so cool!
Overall, I give it a 4/5!
I haven’t read this book. Awesome review. I am hoping to read it soon…!

I love your book reviews! Even though I haven’t a clue about this book series it clearly tells me you have a passion for these stories! Keep on reading my girl! I’m reading a good old romance by Nicholas Sparks at the moment! 🥰

I have read it! Keefe’s and Dex’s files, Loll… Typical Hunkyhair. Keefe was a bit different in the novella, though…
Lovely review, by the way… I agree with almost everything you said (:

YES UNLOCKED IS SOOO GOOOD! I 100% agree that most of the book was boring, I legit skipped every registry file, and all the stuff I already knew and headed for the color pages and novella! Have a nice day! 😊
